The 7,000 UK double deck trailers in operation in 2010 saved an estimated 260 million road miles and 202,000 tonnes of carbon emissions.*

If 20% of the UK’s road freight were double decked, instead of 3.5%, these statistics would be even more impressive: 1.5b less miles and 1.2m tonnes of carbon saved each year.

By cutting road miles, double deck deliveries also have a significant and beneficial impact on both congestion and noise levels – which is especially critical for urban distribution.

Increasing vehicle cubic capacity is the single most effective means to improve road transport efficiency and sustainability. Double deck trailers will play a significant role in helping the UK and the rest of Europe achieve emissions targets over the coming decades.
