Double decking direct to stores offers the potential to cut secondary distribution costs by up to 50%. Yet the majority of retail service yards are designed only for single-deck deliveries.

Where stores have vehicle ramps and pits to generate raised loading docks, this can create up to 200m2-500m2 of dead space in the yard. At flat-floor service yards, this space can be used to create extra storage or selling area instead, and to enable high-volume deliveries at warehouses that are often over-stretched with single-deck drops.

Transdek’s range of V2G loading systems is designed specifically to service double deck and other vehicle types to ground level at flat-floor sites, with loading speeds equivalent to current single deck deliveries.

For existing sites, Transdek supplies bespoke, modular ‘wedges’ and warehouse extensions to generate increased yard and warehouse space for double decking.
